We would like to wish you all a Happy Halloween, and announce the winners of the 2005 EYESCREAM Short Film Festival, which screened at the Manning Bar on Thursday 27 October. For those who came along, we hope you enjoyed the night, and most importantly, the fantastic lot of films we had. For those who didn't: there's always next year. Thanks to our great and generous sponsors, we were able to reward the 1st Prize to "The Intruder" by Janine Hewitt. "Fuel" by Nash Edgerton got Runner-Up. You wouldn't believe how close the judges' score were between these and several other films: neck and neck, I tell ya! In the same vein, the Audience Award was also hotly contended, with "Broken" by Josh Groom taking the $500 in cash. And SBS TV selected Ana Djordjevic's zombie comedy, Dead Shift, to screen on their excellent new short film program, S.O.S (really cool - like EatCarpet USED to be). Thank you for all of your support in 2005, and we look forward to seeing your new masterpieces in 2006. Stay tuned to this website, eyescream.info for updates and details, as well as information on other events and such - which reminds us: if you have anything kind of related to film festivals or the darker genre, email us the information at eyescream@escendi.com.au, and we can plug it on the site (pending certain criteria).
